I'm a teen, and I strongly disagree with this stuff. If you're honest with your kids, they'll be honest with you. It's sad that you distrust your kids that much that you need to know what they're doing EVERY second of EVERY day. :(

Haley,

I respect a persons right to privacy. However, Children need to be protected. They are inexperienced and gullible. Many teens are so full of angst toward their parents that they will believe a total stranger whom they meet online before listening to their parent.

I'm haunted by the news reports of children who were bullied on Facebook and took their own lives or chatting with strangers who they think are other kids only to find out later they were someone evil.

How many missing children could have been saved if their parents could have had the knowledge to allow them to intervene?

Like it or not your parents have the right and obligation to protect you.

In days gone by, it used to be that someone had to come to the door of your home and knock and talk to your parents before they could talk to you. It was easier to see who they were and what they were up to.

Now with the internet and smart phones, strangers have access to our homes 24/7. Parents need a way to screen out the evil people of the world in order to give you the chance to grow up and learn how to protect yourself.
