iPad Book Apps.

One of Apple's newest multimedia devices is the iPad. A flat tablet computer tailor made to display everything from e-books to your favorite videos. Most buyers of the iPad are very exited about their purchase and can't wait to try out all of this great devices functionality. And there in lies the rub. Soon after unpacking their shiny new iPad and playing with it to get it set up and see what the possibilities are, they get bored.

So, to relieve the boredom they head on over to the iBooks App or iTunes to find some media to put through it's paces on the iPad. That is when the real shock of the multimedia sales funnel sets in.

Yes, the iBooks app has a lot of public domain and free books listed but, lets face it, there is nothing really new there and you've probably already read most of those books anyway. So, with book downloads running $12 on average, what's an avid reader to do?

How about the Amazon Kindle Store?

Amazon offers a Kindle App free for your iPad. You can find it at Amazon as well as the Apple App store. With it you'll be able to read any Kindle book with your iPad as well as your iPhone and iPod touch. The Kindle App will give you comparable functionality to the iBook app but with the flexibility of being able to read your books on any of the supported devices where the iBook app only works on iPad.

I don't know about you but I like to have control over the things I purchase so this really appeals to me. It just cries value with a capital "V". Now I'm sure this is no great revelation for people familiar with Amazon and how they deal with your purchase of digital media but for those who are as yet uninitiated, here is a brief explanation.

When ever you buy digital media from Amazon, be it a movie or a book, a library is set up under your account and a copy of your purchase is saved there permanently. You are then allowed a certain number of downloads for that item. After you've used your download quota you will then be able to access it only by viewing it through the internet. It will always be there and always be available. I know that was very broad but if you need more details they are available at Amazon.

Book pricing is comparable for titles that appear on both Apps however, Amazon has slightly better prices over all.

More books become available everyday for the iPad and more retail outlets will jump on board and provide books formatted for the Apple iPad. Many sites offer books for purchase with Paypal and many other options. So as you can see, there are many avenues available to you as you endeavor to find out how to buy books for the iPad.

I have all the E-reader apps and I prefer Barnes and Nobles. It's ease of use and device transfer is the best. Great hub!

Reading Glasses to Help See

  • Magnifying Glasses for Reading.

I guess you could use a magnifying glass for reading if you dont mind being compared to Sherlock Holmes. It certainly isnt very convenient to carry one around with you. I do have a little one that I take to flea markets to visualize maker marks on silver and china, but for other uses, reading glasses fill the bill. • Stylish Reading Glasses For The Fashionista.

If the words stylish reading glasses seem incongruous to you, you are probably not alone. Reading glasses have been long associated with nerdy middle aged professors and not as a high fashion accessory. I can remember many a school teacher with utilitarian reading glasses suspended from a beaded chain presiding over a... Tags: stylish reading glasses, Reading Sunglasses, Tinted Readers - 2 days ago

  • I Need Reading Glasses?.

Oh man, I can remember when I turned forty; my husband declared that it was all downhill from there. Youll never use the gas pedal again, he predicted. Oh pooh, forty is not old. I felt perfectly fine, just like I always had. Well, I am a little older now and my eyes have finally betrayed me. At first, it was just ...
